The Sr. Data Scientist Engineer will provide technical leadership and direction across the Digital Manufacturing Technology (ManTech) thrust across multiple sites. You craft and execute strategies that result in sustainable value creation that delivers measurable results.As a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology development team, you will define, develop, implement, and transition new technology solutions to manufacturing to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality. Manufacturing concept and process solutions for production applications cover advanced technologies including but not limited to composites fabrication, assembly, automation, inspection, direct part manufacturing, LO technologies, as well as digital capabilities. The role requires incorporation of requirements into development plans and evaluation of performance of processes and tools to verify their efficiency. In addition, you will identify and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure R& D contractual obligations (technical, schedule, and cost) are met and product quality is maintained. In this role, you will provide guidance regarding design concepts, TRL/MRL maturity, and specification requirements to best utilize resources and manufacturing techniques, and ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. This role involves interfacing with internal and external customers, program offices, engineering disciplines, and executive management. In addition, the role will require the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic/fast-paced work environment. Budgeting and Project Management skills will be utilized to properly scope and execute assigned work and manage project efforts.In this role, you will:Provide leadership/direction to ensure technology initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported.Develop architectures and concepts for advanced digital technologies with a focus on implementation within Northrop GrummanInteract with customers (internal and external)Reach out and work with colleges, universities, government, supplier as part of development and improvement projectsProvide leadership/direction to ensure technology initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported.Introduce and develop new technologies for the manufacturing floorLead projects consisting of cross functional teams of high performing engineers developing advanced systems designs and concepts.Provide technical leadership and oversight to achieve efficient, effective, and innovative Engineering solutionsApply new technologies as well as common designs and products enabling rapid development, prototyping and affordable solutions.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in STEM related field with fourteen (14) years of related and relevant experience, OR 12 years of experience with a Masters, OR nine (9) years of experience with a PhDProficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointKnowledge of data gathering, cleansing and transformation techniquesExperience with common data science toolkits/languages such as python/R, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow, matplotlib, numpy, C++ or pythonSecret Clearance Periodic Re-investigation within the last 5 yearsExceptional analytical skills.Knowledge of best practices in data analysis.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Documenting processes and maintaining data records.Preferred Qualifications:Secret Clearance Periodic Re-investigation within the last 5 yearsSpecial Access Program (SAP) CurrentExperience in hardware/software integration of manufacturing systemsExperience with querying databases and defining schemas (MS SQL) with the ability to perform data analysis and report findingsExperience with high volume production ETL pipelinesExperience with production assembly/fabrication including Digital Transformation, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, Systems Integration, IIoT, RFID, Cloud Based Applications, and/or production manufacturing operationsExtensive experience configuring Edge Devices (HoloLens2)Working knowledge of classified information systems infrastructureDigital Manufacturing experienceArchitecture, Design & Integration experience for engineering systems and softwareTechnical Writing capabilityProject / Program Management skills (proposal creation, scheduling, budget tracking)Strong Familiarity with Process Development & ControlsAbility tolead through, overcome and adapt to obstacles and challengesAbility to deal effectively with change and challenges and helps others to do the sameAbility to travel 10-15% of the timeSalary Range: $190,600 USD $286,000 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
