Job Description Banks Power is the premier designer and manufacturer of power-enhancing aftermarket performance products for diesel and gas powered engines used for light trucks, motorhomes, sport utility vehicles and marine engines. We are looking for an Accounting Associate to join our team. This position will be reporting directly to the Corporate Controller and will be assisting with basic general ledger and cost accounting duties in a manufacturing environment. Essential Functions: Review completed manufacturing work orders for cost variances and update standard costs as needed. Post work order scrap transactions. Review labor reports for errors and make corrections. Update standard costs of purchased items. Review and analyze engineering, R&D and other project costs Assist controller with month end close activities. Prepare month end reports for stock and WIP inventory. Prepare and post reconciliation journal entries. Prepare quarterly inventory valuation reports for outside auditors. Assist with the annual physical inventory counts. Interact with purchasing, manufacturing and inventory control personnel. Review labor and overhead rates and update annually. Prepare management cost analysis as needed. Perform tasks in a diligent manner ensuring accurate and timely output. Ensure the professional and courteous atmosphere of the company and the Accounting Department at all times by maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor---s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. 1-3 years of related accounting experience in manufacturing environment. Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents. Ability to produce and present numerical data effectively. Write instructions and procedures, correspondence, memos and reports. Strong working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, including pivot tables and lookup formulas Experience with ERP software a plus Additional Skills: Ability to collect and interpret data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret mathematical information as well as information provided in diagrams. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages and decimals. Highly responsible, self-motivated and able to thrive in an energetic, fast-paced, creative environment. Strong work ethic, can work effectively independently and in a team environment. Ability to meet agreed upon deadlines. Hands-on; proactive in nature.
